Ohio Fish & Shrimp Festival

Friday, September 17, 2010 - 5pm to 9pm
Saturday, September 18, 2010 - 10am to 8pm
Sunday, September 19, 2010 - 10am to 6pm

Shrimp in Ohio? Come celebrate Ohio’s Freshwater Shrimp Harvest at the farm. The 9th annual Ohio Fish and Shrimp Festival will be held at Freshwater Farms of Ohio, 1 mile north of Urbana at 2624 N. U.S. Highway 68.

There will be freshly harvested shrimp from multiple farmers for sale as well as food vendors of all kinds. Come enjoy the extensive displays of koi and other decorative garden pond fish. Swing by the farm market for a gourmet taste of smoked trout products.

The festivities of the ninth annual celebration will start on Friday with a Music4Meals concert to raise funds and food for local food pantries and the Caring Kitchen's backpack program, which provides eligible children food to take home for the weekend. The benefit concert will feature a mix of regional jazz, rock and blues bands. For information on making donations or volunteering at Music4Meals, contact Jamie Shaffner, 653-7510.

We are also proud to present the 6th annual Bluegrass Stage with live music on Saturday and Sunday; lawn chairs and blankets welcome!

Join in on the Trout Feeding Frenzy, the Kids Wet Zone, sand castle play zone, wading pool fountain fun and see frogs and turtles and other native critters.

Don't forget to visit the famous sturgeon pool, where you can pet Ohio's largest native fish. Also stuff yourself in the Shrimp Peeling & Eating Contest, buy a Shrimp Festival souvenir shirt and come enjoy the day at our farm!

Parking available. Admission to the festival is FREE!
